Checklist for Summer Camp

You’re frantic. Panicked even. In exactly one hour, your troop is heading out the door on a warm-weather outing — and you’re struggling to pack. What clothes do you need to bring? How about extra gear?
No worries. Just take a deep breath and use this handy checklist. In addition to the basic camping gear, you’ll also need:

Required Forms

  • Permission Slip and Payment
  • 3 copies - Medical Form & Insurance Card
  • Medication Form & Medication

Clothing

  • Clothing & Personal Gear MUST be tagged with the Scout's Name
  • Class A Uniform
  • Troop Activity Shirt - Class B
  • Scout Neckerchief & Slide
  • OA Sash (if applicable)
  • Sweater or Sweat Shirt
  • Jacket or Windbreaker
  • 6 Pairs of Socks - Change Daily!
  • 6 Pairs of Underwear - Change Daily!
  • 6 T-shirts
  • 1 Pair of Jeans or Long Pants
  • 2 Pairs of Shorts
  • Belt
  • Handkerchiefs
  • Swimming Trunks & Beach Towel
  • Sneakers/Gym Shoes (1 Pair to Wear and 1 Pair for Spare)
  • Hiking Boots
  • Shower Shoes
  • Poncho or Rainsuit
  • Pajamas/Sleepwear
  • Hat

Personal Toiletries

  • Soap (in Plastic Case/Bag)
  • Shampoo (Small Bottle)
  • Washcloth & 2 Towels
  • Dental Floss
  • Toothbrush & Toothpaste
  • Comb/Brush
  • Laundry Bag
  • Metal Mirror (non-glass)
  • Insect Repellant (non-aerosol only)
  • Sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher)
  • Kleenex / Tissues
  • Deodorant

  • Sleeping Bag or 2 Warm Blankets
  • Pillow
  • Backpack or Duffle Bag
  • Mess Kit (plate, knife, fork & spoon)
  • Drinking Cup (plastic)

  • Crate with wheels
